Boys & Girls Club Remodeled

Celebrate with Ribbon Cutting

BY SOPHIE PAUL

On June 30th of this year, James Ebert, Executive Director of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Weber-Davis, was in Roy for a ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating the revamped teen center. Dan Walker of RC Willey and Kirk Nigro of Rocky Mountain Power were also there.

The Roy Hope Center has been a staple of the Boys and Girls Clubs experience in Weber County for years and will continue to serve over 100 youth daily.

The ribbon cutting ceremony, held in part by the Ogden-Weber Chamber of Commerce Spikers, is a reminder of the positive impact the clubs have on local youth.

The President and CEO of the Ogden-Weber Chamber of Commerce was able to attend the event. “This is, in my opinion, what community is about,” Chuck Leonhardt said. “Those that are here experience fun.”

According to its website, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Weber-Davis serve over 400 youth in Weber County on its mission to “enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens.”

The Boys and Girls Clubs of Weber-Davis sites serve local youth through programming, academic enrichment, and school engagement.

Thank you, RC Willey, for donating furniture and more to the new teen center!
