Ohio man convicted of killing Uber driver
An 83-year-old man named William Brock has been found guilty of murdering 61-year-old Uber driver Loletha Hall outside his home in South Charleston, Ohio. The jury in Clark County took less than two hours to reach a verdict, convicting Brock of murder, felony assault, and kidnapping.
The court heard that Brock wrongly believed Hall was part of a plot to rob him. In reality, both Brock and Hall were victims of the same phone scam. Despite this, prosecutors made it clear that Hall posed no threat and was unarmed when Brock shot her six times.
How the phone scam led to tragedy
On the morning of March 25, 2024, scammers contacted both Brock and Hall separately.
