A Brigham City nursing student is rallying her community to help ensure that no one goes without basic medical supplies. Courtnee Holdaway, a nursing student from Box Elder County, has launched a new initiative called “Aid for All,” a project aimed at assembling and distributing first aid kits to families who rely on local food banks.
Holdaway says she was inspired to act after seeing how many Utahns are struggling to afford even the essentials. Her goal is ambitious but clear: donate 500 first aid kits, 250 kits each to two food banks serving the area.
“At a time when so many people are having a hard time affording necessities, I wanted to create something that could make a real difference right here at home,” Holdaway said. “If families are struggling to buy food, they likely can’t afford first aid supplies either. These kits can truly help in everyday emergencies.”
A community-driven effort
To reach her goal, Holdaway is asking for help gathering supplies and donations. She’s collecting items such as bandages, gauze, gloves, antiseptic wipes, ointment, and other essentials needed to build full kits. Monetary donations will go toward purchasing missing supplies in bulk.
She also set up easy ways for people to support the effort — including Venmo contributions and an Amazon wish list for those who prefer to send supplies directly.
