Utahns are casting ballots today in municipal and school board races across the state, choosing mayors, city council members and local education leaders. While some cities such as Salt Lake City are using ranked choice voting for council seats, most other municipalities are using traditional ballots.
A notable change applies statewide this year: ballots must be received by county clerks by 8 p.m. on Election Day. Previously, ballots postmarked by the day before the election were accepted. Voters still holding a ballot need to use a drop box or vote center rather than mailing it.
