Salt Lake City Woman Accused of Courthouse Bomb Threat Faces Terrorism Charge

A Salt Lake City woman has been arrested and charged after authorities say she threatened to bomb the Tooele County Courthouse and harm a judge connected to her case. The suspect, identified as 42-year-old Dorothy Ikwen, is currently being held without bail at the Tooele County Detention Center.

The threat was reported on October 30, when a courthouse employee told police that Ikwen allegedly called the courthouse and stated she planned to “blow up the building” and kill the judge overseeing her legal matter. According to court documents, Ikwen also identified herself during the call.

The courthouse, located in Tooele County, notified law enforcement immediately. Officers from Salt Lake City Police assisted in locating Ikwen at her apartment.

Police say she resisted arrest and refused to get into the police vehicle, leading to an additional charge of interfering with an officer.

Ikwen is now facing three felony charges:
Threat of terrorism
Threats against a judge
Interference with a peace officer

No explosive devices were found, and no injuries were reported. The investigation remains ongoing, and court proceedings are pending.
