Residents across northern Utah can expect a warm, sunny weekend before a sharp cooldown and unsettled weather arrive early next week, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Salt Lake City.

Meteorologists forecast dry and mild conditions through Saturday, with highs reaching the mid-70s in Salt Lake City, around 60°F in Logan, and up to 76°F in St. George. However, a cold front sweeping across the state beginning Sunday evening will bring gusty winds, scattered showers, and a noticeable temperature drop.

Showers are expected to be most widespread across southern and northeastern Utah and southwest Wyoming late Sunday into Monday morning. By Tuesday, high temperatures in Salt Lake City will dip into the low 60s, with overnight lows falling into the 40s.

The NWS advises residents to plan for cooler mornings, breezy commutes, and changing conditions through midweek. The return to fall-like weather will follow one of the region’s warmest stretches in recent weeks.
