A tragic shooting in Ogden early Saturday morning left one juvenile dead and another in custody, according to police.

Authorities said officers responded to reports of gunfire around 3 a.m. in the 3500 block of Jackson Avenue, where they discovered a juvenile victim who was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s identity has not yet been released.

A juvenile suspect from Syracuse was later arrested and booked for investigation of murder, the Ogden Police Department confirmed in a statement.

Few details have been made public about what led to the shooting, the relationship between those involved, or the weapon used. Police emphasized that there are currently no known threats to the community and that the investigation remains active.
