WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah — Authorities are urgently searching for 11-year-old Aliyah Beals, who was reported missing Thursday evening from West Valley City. Police are asking the public for help locating her, emphasizing that time is critical given her medical conditions.
According to the West Valley City Police Department, Aliyah was last seen around 6:00 p.m. on Thursday near 4300 South and 2900 West. She is described as white, 4 feet tall, about 105 pounds, with long red hair. At the time she went missing, she was wearing a black sweatshirt and black sweatpants featuring hearts or Care Bears designs.
Officials say Aliyah has autism and a mood disorder, conditions that may cause her to become agitated, defensive, or attempt to flee if approached. Because of this, police are urging anyone who sees her to avoid direct confrontation and call 911 immediately or contact West Valley Police at (801) 840-4000, referencing case number WV 25-85993.
Police and search crews have been canvassing the surrounding area since the report came in, focusing on nearby parks, residential streets, and public spaces. Officers have also been coordinating with local residents, schools, and businesses to review security footage that could provide leads.
So far, no confirmed sightings have been reported, but investigators are hopeful that public awareness will help locate the missing child safely.
Authorities stress that the first 24 hours are crucial in missing child cases, especially when the child may be disoriented, frightened, or at risk due to environmental exposure or medical needs.
Residents in the area are urged to check home security cameras, backyards, garages, and sheds, and to report any possible information immediately.
This is a developing story, and updates will be provided as new details become available.
