'I attempted murdering her': Man stabbed girlfriend in the abdomen, took a shower, and wrapped her in blankets before calling 911, authorities say.

A disturbing crime case from Wisconsin has shocked local residents and raised serious questions about alcohol, anger, and domestic violence. A man is accused of brutally stabbing his own fiancée inside their apartment, then calmly taking a shower and covering her bleeding body with blankets before finally calling for help. Police say the woman suffered life-threatening injuries and had to undergo emergency surgery to survive

Incident reported from West Bend, Wisconsin

The accused has been identified as Kevin Fischer, a resident of West Bend, a city located just north of Milwaukee. According to official court documents, the violent incident happened over the weekend inside the couple’s apartment.

Police records state that the day began normally. On Saturday around noon, Fischer started drinking alcohol while his fiancée did not consume any. Later in the day, the woman went out to collect food for dinner. In the evening, Fischer’s sister visited the apartment, and the three spent time playing board games together. Authorities claim Fischer continued drinking alcohol throughout the night.

Sudden attack after argument

Around midnight, Fischer’s sister left the apartment. Sometime after that, the fiancée told Fischer that she was tired and wanted to sleep. What happened next, according to investigators, was completely unexpected.

Court documents allege that Fischer suddenly became aggressive and told his fiancée that he was going to kill her. He then reportedly attacked her with a knife. The woman later told police that she had no idea why Fischer became so hostile and said the attack seemed to come out of nowhere.

Chilling 911 call made hours later

At approximately 3:20 a.m. on Sunday, Fischer called emergency services himself. During the call, he admitted that he had tried to kill his fiancée and said she was bleeding badly because he had stabbed her. He told the dispatcher that he wanted help to arrive so she would not die.

Police say the injured woman could be heard in the background of the call, crying in pain. Fischer was also heard apologising, but at the same time blaming the woman by saying she had “done him wrong.”

According to the criminal complaint, Fischer admitted that after the stabbing, he covered the woman with blankets, took a shower, and only then called 911. He reportedly told the dispatcher that he loved and hated her at the same time but did not want her to die. He also informed authorities that the knife was still lying on the bed.

Police find victim with severe injuries

When officers arrived at the apartment, Fischer opened the door and was immediately detained. One officer noted a strong smell of alcohol on him and said Fischer was slurring his words and crying uncontrollably.

Inside the bedroom, officers found the fiancée lying on her back with blood-soaked blankets placed over her abdomen. A knife covered in blood was recovered nearby.

Medical details shared by police revealed the seriousness of the attack:

• Deep cuts on her left hip
• Multiple stab wounds on her left thigh and knee
• A long cut across her abdomen measuring about 8 inches
• Her small intestine had ruptured and was visible outside her body

Emergency surgery and court proceedings

The woman was rushed to a nearby hospital and told an officer what had happened while on the way. Doctors immediately took her into surgery, where a portion of her intestines had to be removed. Her current medical condition has not been publicly updated.

Fischer was arrested and charged with first-degree attempted intentional homicide using a dangerous weapon. He appeared in court on Monday and is scheduled to return on April 2 for a preliminary hearing. If convicted, he could face up to 60 years in prison.
