A 60-year-old man from Graham was injured after suffering a medical emergency while driving on Saturday afternoon.
The incident led to a crash along State Route 7 in Pierce County and caused temporary traffic delays. Authorities shared updates on the driver’s condition following the accident.
Medical Emergency Leads to Crash
According to the Washington State Patrol, the incident happened around 5 p.m. The man was driving north on State Route 7 in the Elk Plain area when he suddenly experienced a medical emergency.
Due to the medical issue, he lost control of his vehicle. The car went off the roadway and crashed into multiple trees along the side of the highway.
Driver Rescued from Vehicle
Trooper Kameron Watts shared details about the crash on social media. He said that when emergency responders arrived at the scene, the driver was found unresponsive inside the vehicle.
Rescue teams had to carefully remove him from the car. After receiving immediate medical attention, his condition improved. Later updates confirmed that he was responsive and receiving treatment at a nearby hospital.
