Davis County, Utah, has reported its first confirmed measles case, prompting renewed warnings from local health officials as the statewide count reaches 102 infections. The Davis County Health Department said Monday that an adult resident tested positive after becoming infected in late November.
The case was identified over the weekend, and investigators immediately began retracing the individual’s movements to assess potential public exposure. According to the department, the infected resident visited three public locations on Nov. 26, each now considered a possible exposure site.
Public Exposure Locations on Nov. 26
People who were at any of the following places during the listed times may have been exposed to the highly contagious virus:
- Kid Zone, 340 W. Antelope Drive, Clearfield — 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
- Treehouse Children’s Museum, 347 22nd Street, Ogden — 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
- Walmart Supercenter, 745 W. Hill Field Road, Layton — 6:20 p.m. to 7:20 p.m.
Health officials emphasized that measles can linger in the air for up to two hours after an infectious person leaves, meaning people may be exposed without direct contact.

Vaccination Remains the Strongest Protection
Sarah Willardson, director of communicable disease and epidemiology for the Davis County Health Department, stressed that the MMR vaccine remains the most effective safeguard for individuals and communities.
“Being fully vaccinated protects not only the person receiving the shot but also their families, young children who are not yet eligible, and the broader community,” Willardson said.
The department is urging anyone who believes they were exposed—or who develops symptoms such as fever, rash, or cough—to stay home and call a healthcare provider before visiting a clinic. This helps prevent spreading the infection to vulnerable individuals.
