Latimmia Washington, a 27-year-old group home worker in Wisconsin, has been charged with child abuse after allegedly attacking a 17-year-old resident. The incident, which reportedly took place on Wednesday, January 14, was said to have been caught on video.

Details of the Altercation

According to local Fox affiliate WITI, the confrontation began when Washington was helping the teen search for a missing necklace. The situation escalated when the teen allegedly punched Washington, leading to a physical altercation.

The criminal complaint states that Washington followed the teen to her room, where she pulled her hair, threw her to the ground, and punched her while restraining her head.

Witnesses and Evidence

Two other teenagers witnessed the incident, with one of them recording the attack on her cellphone. A third resident of the group home reported seeing Washington follow the teen upstairs just before the altercation occurred.

Threats and Charges

During the attack, Washington is said to have threatened the teen, telling her, “I’ll pop you.” As a result of the assault, Washington is facing one count of child abuse with the intent to cause harm.

Legal Consequences

Washington was released on home detention after the incident and is subject to a no-contact order, which prohibits her from communicating with anyone at the group home. If convicted, she could face up to six years in prison.
