KAYSVILLE, Utah — The Kaysville Fire Department is experiencing a surge in emergency calls this year, putting it on pace for a record-breaking number of responses — a trend officials say is being driven by the city’s continued growth.
In a recent social media update, firefighters highlighted a string of busy days that included structure fires, traffic accidents, and other emergency incidents across the community.
“It has been another busy week for our department, with 70 total responses — an average of 10 calls per day,” the department said. “Overall, our call volume is 20% higher than at this time last year, placing Kaysville Fire on pace for its busiest year yet.”
A Busy Week for Fire and Rescue Crews
On Sunday night, firefighters responded to a balcony fire at an apartment building, where crews quickly contained the flames before they caused major damage.
Just a few days earlier, on Wednesday morning, they were dispatched to a single-vehicle rollover on southbound I-15 near the Kaysville rest area. The vehicle reportedly rolled five times before coming to a stop.
“When troopers arrived, they found one occupant trapped inside,” officials said. “We’re happy to report the patient was freed and transported in stable condition to a local trauma facility.”
That rescue involved teamwork between Kaysville Fire, Utah Highway Patrol, and Farmington Fire Department.
Growing City, Growing Demand
City officials and firefighters alike say the steady growth of Kaysville has fueled increased demand for public safety resources. More residents and new developments have translated into more calls for service — ranging from medical emergencies and accidents to fire prevention and rescue efforts.
As the department continues to respond to record numbers, fire officials are reminding residents to stay cautious and prepared — ensuring working smoke detectors, following fire safety protocols, and driving safely on busy highways.
