Meet Yoshi Kart, the 5 pound puppy in need of a new home after her mother and owner could no longer feed her

A tiny puppy with a big personality is now looking for a loving forever home. Meet Yoshi, a “small but mighty” little girl who has already captured many hearts. Rescued along with her siblings, this adorable pup is ready to start a new chapter filled with care, comfort, and cuddles.

Yoshi’s Rescue Journey

Yoshi Kart recently came into the care of Great Dog Rescue New England (GDRNE), a foster-based rescue group in Massachusetts. She was surrendered along with her littermates in Georgia after their mother was unable to produce enough milk. Sadly, the previous owners could not afford to feed all the puppies.

Because of this, Yoshi and three of her siblings were transported to New England, where they are now living safely in loving foster homes. These temporary homes are helping them grow stronger and healthier while they wait to find permanent families.

A Small Puppy with a Big Personality

Yoshi Kart is just 8 weeks old and weighs around 5 pounds. She is believed to be an Australian Cattle Dog, also known as a Blue Heeler, mix. Even though she is tiny, her energy and charm are anything but small.

Her foster describes her as:

  • Quick and playful
  • Very smart for her age
  • Always ready for cuddles
  • Full of happy puppy energy

Yoshi loves playing with toys, running around the backyard, and snuggling on the couch after a long day of fun. She enjoys simple puppy activities and bonds quickly with her humans.

Training and Care Details

Since Yoshi is still very young, she is not yet house-trained, crate-trained, or leash-trained. However, there is good news. She is said to be smart and eager to learn. Puppies of her breed are usually quick learners, which means she should respond well to consistent training and patience.

Before adoption, Yoshi will be:

  • Spayed
  • Up to date on vaccinations
  • Ready for her new home

Her adoption profile sweetly says she is ready to “win first place in your home,” showing just how special she is.

About Great Dog Rescue New England

Great Dog Rescue New England (GDRNE) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organisation based in Massachusetts. Unlike traditional shelters, they do not operate a physical building. Instead, all rescued dogs stay in foster homes where they receive individual care and attention.

The rescue group is run completely by volunteers across New England who are passionate about helping dogs escape homelessness. They rescue dogs from both Southern states and local areas, giving them a second chance at life.

Supporting Dogs Beyond Adoption

As a nonprofit, GDRNE depends entirely on donations and volunteer support. Their mission goes beyond simply finding homes for dogs. They also:

  • Donate funds to spay and neuter clinics in the South
  • Participate in community outreach programmes
  • Partner with agencies that train dogs to assist people with physical disabilities and hearing impairments

Their goal is to make sure every dog is matched with the right family and receives the care it truly deserves.

A Bright Future Ahead

Yoshi may be small, but her future is full of big possibilities. From a difficult start in Georgia to a safe foster home in New England, she has already come a long way.

Now, all she needs is a family who will give her love, patience, and guidance as she grows. With her playful spirit and loving nature, Yoshi is sure to bring joy and laughter into any home.
