A woman who had been missing since January has now been identified as the person found dead in Bradley Lake, according to the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Body Found in Bradley Lake

On Tuesday afternoon, emergency teams from Central Pierce Fire & Rescue responded to a call about a body spotted in the water at Bradley Lake, about 25 feet from the shoreline. Police said the body had likely been in the water for quite some time before being discovered.

Missing Woman Identified

Investigators had been working to confirm if the body was that of 60-year-old Ginger Meier, who was reported missing on January 11. Her vehicle was found parked at Bradley Lake Park on the day she went missing, but there was no sign of her at the time.

The next day, the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that the body pulled from the lake was indeed Meier.

Cause of Death Still Unknown

Officials have not yet released the cause or manner of her death. The investigation is still ongoing as they wait for further information from medical and forensic reports.

Police Express Sorrow

Puyallup Police Deputy Chief Greg Massey spoke about the tragic discovery, saying, “Unfortunately, it’s not a happy ending all the time.”

This heartbreaking outcome brings closure to a case that had left the community concerned for weeks, but it also leaves many questions still unanswered as investigators continue their work.
