Police in Tacoma pursue a domestic violence suspect

A 42-year-old man accused of domestic violence and making death threats was arrested in Tacoma after leading deputies on a dramatic chase early Wednesday morning, according to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO).

Domestic Violence Report Turns Into Car Chase

At around 7 a.m., deputies responded to a report of domestic violence near East 43rd Street and East McKinley Avenue in Tacoma. A woman had reportedly been threatened, and the suspect was said to be armed and dangerous.

When deputies spotted the suspect’s vehicle, they attempted to pull him over. But instead of stopping, the man took off—sparking a high-speed chase through city streets.

Chase Caught on Dashcam and Bodycam

The PCSO later posted dashcam and bodycam footage of the incident on Facebook. The video shows deputies and Tacoma Police officers in pursuit of the fleeing car, attempting multiple times to stop the vehicle safely.

Eventually, officers managed to pin the car and bring it to a stop. They quickly pulled the suspect out of the vehicle and placed him under arrest without further incident.

Facing Multiple Charges

According to the sheriff’s office, the man has been booked into the Pierce County Jail and is facing several serious charges, including:

  • Assault (related to the domestic violence report)
  • Felony eluding
  • Harassment (including threats to kill)
  • Resisting arrest
  • Possession of a controlled substance

His name has not yet been released to the public.
