Fire rips through Ogden home, causing $120,000 damage

A late-night house fire in Ogden left one person displaced and caused significant property damage. Firefighters acted quickly to control the situation, and support is now being provided to the affected resident.

Fire in Ogden Displaces One Resident

On Thursday night, a structure fire broke out near the 1700 block of Valley Drive in Ogden. The incident happened around 10:45 p.m., prompting a large response from the Ogden Fire Department.

When fire crews arrived at the scene, they saw thick smoke coming from the front part of the house. Thankfully, no one was inside the home at the time.

Red Cross Assisting the Displaced Occupant

Although the house was empty when firefighters arrived, one person who lived there has been displaced. The Red Cross has stepped in to help the affected resident by providing emergency support and shelter.

Massive Fire Department Response

To tackle the blaze, a total of 21 firefighters were called to the scene, along with:

  • 3 engine companies
  • 3 ladder companies
  • 1 medic unit
  • 1 ambulance
  • 2 fire investigators
  • 2 fire chiefs

The team worked together to bring the fire under control and prevent it from spreading to nearby structures.

Fire Damage and Ongoing Investigation

The fire caused an estimated $120,000 in damage to the home. While the full extent of the damage is still being assessed, the cause of the fire has not yet been determined. Fire investigators are currently working to find out what sparked the blaze.
