The Federal Way Police Department (FWPD) is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a person of interest connected to a fatal shooting that occurred on January 18, 2026.
Around 3:30 p.m., officers responded to reports of gunfire near 11th Place South and South 322nd Place in Federal Way, Washington. When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered a man suffering from a gunshot wound. Sadly, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim has been identified as 44-year-old Kirshawn Dean LaMarche, according to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office, which ruled his death a homicide.
Police have since named 25-year-old LaTre Stout as a person of interest in the case. While he has not been charged, authorities are actively looking for him and are encouraging anyone with information about his location or the events leading up to the shooting to come forward.
Federal Way Police Chief Andy Hwang noted that while investigators do not believe the general public is in immediate danger, they are taking the matter seriously and working with urgency. “We need the public’s help to bring justice and ensure community safety,” Hwang said.
According to officials, Stout may have ties to the local area, and police are asking residents to remain vigilant and report any sightings or tips related to his whereabouts.
