A suspect was apprehended by the Thurston County Sheriff’s Department after crashing a stolen truck in the Yelm area. The truck had originally been stolen from Sumner.
Attempted DUI Stop and Crash
Deputies attempted to pull the suspect over on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI). However, the suspect tried to evade officers, resulting in a crash.
Suspect Flees on Foot
After the crash, the suspect fled the scene on foot. Authorities launched a search with the help of a Washington State Patrol airplane.
Suspect Found and Taken into Custody
The suspect was eventually located, hiding in a fetal position. He was transported to the hospital for treatment before being booked into jail.
