The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced 14 new members of its Young Men general advisory council, marking an important leadership transition as the Church strengthens its worldwide focus on helping young men grow spiritually, socially and personally. The new council members will work directly with the Young Men general presidency to guide programs for youth across the globe.
The presidency — President Timothy L. Farnes, First Counselor David J. Wunderli, and Second Counselor Sean R. Dixon — was sustained during the April 2025 General Conference and formally began their service on August 1, 2025. Their leadership includes providing direction to local and general Church leaders as they support young men through teaching, mentoring and service-based initiatives.
The newly appointed advisory council members began their responsibilities on December 1, 2025, following the release of the previous council. The outgoing group included five men who had served since 2020 and nine who contributed throughout 2024. Their years of service helped shape programs that continue to influence youth participation and leadership development worldwide.
According to the Church, advisory councils play an essential role in ensuring the presidency remains informed about the needs of young men from diverse regions and cultures. Council members offer perspective, curriculum feedback, leadership training support and coordination with local leaders. Their work strengthens the presidency’s ability to meet the evolving spiritual and developmental needs of young men across continents.
The Church continues to expand its global youth initiatives, including the Children and Youth program, which encourages young members to grow through personal goals, service and faith-centered activities. As this new advisory council begins its tenure, Church leaders emphasize their focus: strengthening the rising generation and ensuring leaders at every level have the support and resources needed to guide young men in their spiritual and personal development.
