A fatal crash on U.S. 6 left one man dead Sunday evening after his vehicle collided with a semitruck between Spanish Fork and Price, according to the Utah Highway Patrol. The incident occurred around 4:40 p.m. near Soldier Summit, during wet road conditions that may have contributed to the crash.
Authorities say the driver of an eastbound Ford truck lost control, causing the vehicle to spin into the westbound lanes. A semitruck traveling west struck the Ford on the passenger side. The Ford’s driver died at the scene before emergency crews arrived.
The semitruck driver sustained only minor injuries and did not require hospital transport.
Westbound lanes of U.S. 6 were temporarily closed as troopers managed the scene, though traffic is currently being guided through using the center turn lane.
The Utah Highway Patrol noted that the crash remains under investigation, and weather conditions—including wet pavement—are being reviewed as possible factors.
