The Utah Warriors rugby team has announced it is suspending operations and will not participate in the 2026 Major League Rugby (MLR) season. As one of the league’s original franchises since 2018, the Warriors informed MLR officials of their decision to leave the league following rapid changes over the past week.

The team played home games at Zions Bank Stadium in Herriman, Utah. They join four other teams that have withdrawn from the league since the end of the previous season. Season ticket holders will receive refunds.

Kimball Kjar, co-founder and CEO of the Warriors, emphasized that this decision “isn’t the end” for rugby in Utah and promised to share future plans on how they will continue supporting the sport and the local rugby community. More details are expected in the coming days about the team’s ongoing engagement with the game in Utah.
