Smedley Plumbing, Heating and Air is celebrating 75 years in business. This multigenerational company was founded by Wayne T. and Maxine Smedley, who started out as farmers in Syracuse.

They noticed a need for plumbing and HVAC services in the community. After acquiring the needed education and resources, Smedley’s was born. Little did they know back in 1947 just how much of a family affair it would be. Over the next couple of generations, almost everyone in the Smedley family has worked at the company, and many still carry on the Smedley tradition today.

Amy Maxwell, the granddaughter of Wayne T. and Maxine, is the office manager. She says, “The business that my grandma and grandpa started has empowered people to provide well for their families in an honest and friendly way.” She said that being a woman in this industry has been fun. She enjoys surprising folks with accurate and helpful answers to their questions. She loves when they call back and thank her for saving them a service call and for knowing what she is talking about.

The staff at Smedley’s is focused on keeping you comfortable in your home with the top level of service found in the industry. For 75 + years we have continually worked to provide honest advice, accurate information and creative solutions at an upfront and fair price.

Amy is proud of the team at Smedley’s, “We have the very best people working here. Every one of them, I would let into my home without me there. They are top notch in education, training, workmanship, and integrity. I love each one of them.” Smedley’s never offers bait and switch “deals,” and our technicians and plumbers do not work on commission. We give you a fair price for quality work on every job.

Smedley’s gives back to their amazing community in numerous ways. One of them is by taking part in the Lennox “Feel the Love” campaign. In the Fall each year, friends and family can nominate someone who needs a new furnace but cannot afford the cost. Smedley’s partners with Lennox, and the community to install a brand-new unit at no cost to them.

Amy says, “I am just a tiny piece. The legacy of providing quality workmanship and great service at a fair price, will continue when I am gone.”
