CONCERTS IN THE PARK

BY MARGE BECRAFT

Concerts in the Park will be held at 7 p.m., July 15th, at the amphitheater in the Southwest Library (behind the library) located at 2039 W. 4000 S. It is sponsored by Roy City, Roy City Arts Council, Library, and RAMP tax from Weber County.

Hales Family Fiddlers started in 1972 in Pleasant View, Utah. We play and sing old time fiddle, bluegrass, western, country, and more. It started with Dad on the guitar, Mom on the fiddle, and six children covering the fiddle, bass, piano, mandolin, banjo, and guitar. The next generation is excelling and now taking the lead.

We have performed throughout Utah, the surrounding states, and have represented the USA at International Folk Festivals in Mexico, Italy, Finland, Sweden, Hungary, Austria, England, Scotland, China, Poland, Czech Republic, Germany, and France.

The oldest sibling, Diane, married Roy native, Leon Wilson, and has lived in Roy the last 40 years. She presently serves on the city council.

Music is a great way to come together. We are excited to participate in this first year of Roy Concerts in the Park. We look forward to seeing you!
