City Hall Update To Date

◊ Juneteenth is now an official city holiday.
◊ A Roy Youth Council is being organized for students ages 15 – 18. For details and an application Contact Sophie Paul at 801-725-0552
◊ Council has had good work sessions on the General Plan which is progressing well
◊ Budget for FY 2023 is in the works. Review it on the city website and come to the public hearing at the city council meeting on June 21st at 5:30 p.m.
◊ Water concerns continue, and the city is leading out with some changes for this year:
♦ City park strips will not be watered
♦ Splash pad will be closed
♦ Xeriscaping will be implemented in specific areas
♦ Play fields must be maintained green for the safety of participants
♦ Aquatic Center and Complex are great options to help cool off this summer
◊ Volunteerism abounds in Roy. Thanks for coming together and helping your neighbors
◊ Request for Roy City to participate in the Pioneer Days Parade on July 25th. If you have ideas or are willing to help, reach out to Brittany Fowers at 801-774-1021
◊ The council attended ULCT (Utah League of Cities and Towns) meetings in St. George and received updates on requirements from the recent legislative session
◊ New Dollar Tree coming West of Kent’s
