We hope you and your families are happy and healthy as we start this New Year!
Spending money with local retailers helps keep the local community alive. The places where we eat, shop, and have fun have the potential to help build a community. That means, by buying local, you help create jobs for your friends and neighbors, contribute to improved public infrastructure, and invest in your neighborhoods both socially and economically.
Shopping online, with your purchases delivered to your home, is also a great choice to help build the community. Because of sales tax return from increased online purchases, we were recently able to raise the salaries of our Public Safety and Administration employees to better align with other agencies along the Wasatch Front, and we did that without raising property taxes.
Thank you to all our Roy residents for continuing support to Shop Roy, Buy Local – and keep shopping online!
Spring is fast approaching, and now is the time to look at our great recreation programs. The city offers highly organized programs like baseball, softball, machine pitch, volleyball, coach pitch, T-ball, and swimming lessons for all ages. For more information and to sign up, visit royrecreation.com. Roy City is also a wonderful place for part-time job opportunities, especially for the youth. Lifeguards, swim instructors, scorekeepers, officials, and laborer positions are needed. Please visit the city website at royutah.org to apply or call 801-774-1048 to inquire.
