A Little Nudge

by Melissa Spelts

This time of year, I am always reminded of how blessed I am. We All are living in this incredible part of the world. With that awareness comes a desire to spread a little love and give thanks in small acts of random kindness. Here is a list of ideas that you can use to choose one or two options for this holiday season.

• Pay it forward (or for the person behind you) at your favorite drive-thru
• Rake a neighbor’s leaves for them or shovel for them in secret
• Give a hamburger and hand warmer to a homeless person
• Make something yummy and share with your neighbors
• Leave money on a vending machine for someone to find
• Leave a roll of quarters at the Laundromat
• Adopt a foster kid for Christmas
• Give a treat to your mail carrier
• Write a love note to a relative
• Babysit for a friend for free
• Hold the door open for someone
• Let someone go in front of you in the line
• Be polite on the road, let someone in
• Call or FaceTime grandparents
• Thank our policemen, firemen and nurses
• Donate blood
• Smile
• Ask if you can help
• Take someone a meal
• Serve in a homeless shelter
• Spend time with your family
• Take the time to listen to someone
• Do a sibling’s chore without being asked
• Buy groceries for the person behind you
• Reconnect with old friend

Happy Holidays!
