Today’s children’s and young adult literature represent the diversity of identity and experiences that exist in a multicultural, modern United States; but not everyone is happy about this development. Book challengers argue that these stories are inappropriate for minors. This vibrant, low-impact class combines gentle yoga, strength and stretch, guided dance, and meditation. Presented as a combined approach, selected activities help the body with balance, dexterity, strength and circulation.
Yoga

Ages 18 and above. Both physical and mental, yoga is a low-impact activity that promotes relaxation, reduces stress, and also provides the same benefits as other forms of exercise. Regular practice will help increase stamina, improve breathing, and increase general health for a longer, more active life.
Tai Chi
Saturdays 10:00 a.m.
A form of martial arts, Tai Chi uses slow, controlled movements to regulate breathing and build stamina. By focusing the mind on moving through a series of poses, a state of mental calm and clarity can help improve coordination, relaxation, and general health.
