Roy Communities that Care Coalition

Roy Communities That Care Coalition’s vision statement is “Together, we can be one town, one team, one dream through creating and fostering a safe, healthy, and prosperous place to live, work, and play. Our community is a supportive place to raise a child, to be a child, to promote responsible and involved citizenship and to encourage lifelong learning.”

As we ready ourselves for a new school year to get started, prepare our youth with fresh supplies, new school clothes, and the latest and greatest gadgets to help them learn, it is imperative that parents and community members become better prepared to support these young people. Roy CTC Coalition is teaming up with community partners to provide parent and caregiver workshops throughout the upcoming school year.

Be watching for flyers, posters, and social media advertising workshops such as Guiding Good Choices, Emotion Coaching, and Love & Logic.

GUIDING GOOD CHOICES is for parents of youth, ages 9-14, to help strengthen family bonds, set clear standards, and help children make good choices.

EMOTION COACHING is for parents of all ages, to teach parents how to help build emotional intelligence, support kids through life’s ups and downs, build confidence, and help them grow socially, emotionally, and intellectually.

LOVE AND LOGIC is for parents of all ages and provides parents and caregivers with practical strategies for preventing and reducing behavior problems, increasing motivation, and building assets that contribute to life-long responsibility and resiliency in children and youth.

Get involved! Come check out one of our monthly Community Board Meetings, held in the Board Room of the Southwest Branch of the Weber County Library the third Thursday of the month from 6:30-7:30.
